Building the data infrastructure the maritime industry can rely on.
Raa Labs was founded in 2018 with a clear focus: fix the data layer. Not the applications built on top of it, not the reporting downstream. The infrastructure that determines whether vessel data can be trusted in the first place.
Based in Lysaker, Norway, with 30+ people and customers across every major shipping segment, we build and operate vessel data infrastructure designed for reliability at fleet scale. Our foundation spans onboard and cloud environments through two deployment paths: RaaEDGE, our on-board IoT platform, and Cloud Connect, which integrates with existing data sources at cloud level. The same backbone runs across all use cases, which means the data your teams, systems, and third parties depend on comes from a single, consistent source.
The data layer is independent of any single application or analytics vendor. That means you retain full control over how your data is used, who consumes it, and which tools you choose downstream. Adding a new use case means connecting to something that already works, not starting a new data project.
We don't just collect data. We take responsibility for its quality. That means actively monitoring data health across your fleet, coordinating with stakeholders on board and ashore, and acting when something needs fixing. End users can trust what they receive, every time.

Twenty years making critical infrastructure work where it matters most, starting at sea as a Systems Officer aboard Royal Norwegian Navy fast patrol boats, responsible for sensor and weapon systems. Trained as an engineer and shaped by the Norwegian military, Glenn brings both the technical foundation and the operational discipline that critical systems demand, along with a security-first mindset that has stayed with him ever since. Cisco later gave him the commercial edge, translating infrastructure complexity into business value across hybrid cloud and enterprise solutions. Each stop added a layer. At Raa Labs, it all converges. As Head of Platform Engineering, Glenn is responsible for the full edge-to-cloud stack, from the compute running onboard vessels to the data pipelines serving some of the world's largest shipping operators, where the integrity of the data is everything.
